Goa Football Development Council celebrates 13 Glorious Years!

GFDC commemorated its 13th Anniversary at the SAG Athletic Stadium, Bambolim, with religious observances, exhibition matches and remarks from senior officials.

The Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) commemorated its 13th Anniversary on 13 August 2025 at the SAG Athletic Stadium in Bambolim. The event featured religious observances, exhibition matches, and remarks from government officials.

The celebration opened with a Holy Mass and Puja, followed by football matches involving coaches, centre heads, and staff members. Three competitive matches took place: South Goa Coaches defeated North Goa Coaches in the men's division, Centre Heads emerged victorious against GFDC Staff, and South Goa's women coaches and centre heads won against their North Goa counterparts.

Dignitaries in attendance

Several dignitaries attended, including Shri Santosh Sukhadeve (Secretary Sports), Mrs. Fransquinha Oliveira (Member Secretary, GFDC), Dr. Ajay Gaude (Director, DSYA), and other state officials. Secretary Sports congratulated the winning teams and extended anniversary wishes. Dr. Gaude referenced a Football Summit from October and emphasised collaborative sports development across the state.

It gives me immense pride and joy to celebrate the 13th anniversary of the Goa Football Development Council.
