Policy
Content archival policy
This policy describes how the Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) treats time-sensitive content so that visitors to this website only encounter material that is current and valid.
1. Purpose
A government website carries notices, tenders, recruitment notices, results, schemes and announcements whose relevance is time-bound. Once such content expires, leaving it in the active section of the site can mislead visitors. This policy lays down a uniform method for identifying expired content and moving it to an archive or removing it.
2. Content with a defined validity
Every time-sensitive item published on this site carries one of the following markers:
- A last date for receipt of applications or bids (tenders, recruitment notices, scheme applications)
- An event date (matches, trials, training camps, meetings, results)
- A validity period (notifications, circulars, policy documents that supersede earlier versions)
3. Archival schedule
| Content type | Action after expiry | Timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Tenders | Moved to a "Closed Tenders" archive | Within 7 days of the bid-opening date |
| Recruitment notices | Moved to an archive once the recruitment is concluded | Within 30 days of the final result |
| Events & trials | Moved to the past events / gallery section | Within 14 days of the event |
| News & press releases | Retained chronologically; older than two years archived | Annually |
| Superseded notifications | Replaced; older version archived with a "Superseded by" link | On the day the new notification is issued |
4. Archive availability
Archived content remains accessible from the archive section of the relevant page (for example, "Closed Tenders" within the Tenders page). Visitors may also request specific archived material under the Right to Information Act, 2005 by writing to the Public Information Officer; see the RTI page.
5. Permanent retention
Bye-laws, citizen charter, organisational structure, audited accounts, and statutory disclosures are not archived. They remain available in full on the active site and are updated in place when revised.
6. Responsibility
The Web Information Manager (see the Web Information Manager page) is responsible for ensuring that this archival schedule is followed and reviewed annually.
