The function was graced by the Chief Guest, Fr. Pio Almeida, Parish Priest, who encouraged the young players to pursue the sport with dedication and discipline. Also present on the occasion were Fransquinha Almeida, Member Secretary of GFDC; Sr. Antonieta Colaco, Headmistress of Our Lady of the Rosary High School; *Cybil Rodrigues, Primary School Supervisor;* Carol Gomes, Centre Head; and Leena Gaunso, Coach.
Speaking on the occasion, Fransquinha Almeida emphasized GFDC’s continuous efforts in promoting grassroots football across the state, particularly in empowering young girls through structured training and access to quality facilities. The dignitaries distributed football kits to the trainees, marking the beginning of a fresh training phase at the Dona Paula centre.
GFDC remains committed to fostering football talent and encouraging youth participation across Goa. The reopening of the Dona Paula centre is yet another step towards building a strong sporting foundation and promoting inclusivity in football.
