From The Chairman’s Desk…

It is a great proud  moment for GOA FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL ,formed by our Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar in 2012 for the development of our State Sport-Football , as 2 of our trainees–FREVINO FERNANDES ( goalkeeper ) & HARSH PATRE ( our Academy team captain / midfielder ) from the GFDC Residential Academy ( Margao ) have been selected for the National U-15 Football Team for the U-15 SAFF Championships to be held at Kathmandu later this month . 

After taking over as the Chairman in March 2012 , I began working with my team to promote grassroot football development in the state which was & is the need of the hour if we are to attain glory after glory for Indian & Goan football ( this being well documented in leading footballing nations like Spain / Belgium /Germany ) & today our stand is vindicated . 3 more trainees had attended the training at Odhisha & have been called back for a further training & look in for the U-15 Natinal team . All these boys have been with us at the grassroot centres from the start & they made a cut to get into our Residential Academy team .

The going is good & this grassroot programme will unearth many more jewels from the mines of Goan Football …
